Our Vision

To support our children’s success

Our mission is to enrich Windom Dual Immersion School by organizing and executing community-building events and educational programs that enhance the overall experience of our students.

We raise funds to cover the cost of the programs and events we support.



What we fund:

Classroom Enrichment  

The PTO currently funds the following classroom enrichment programs:

  • Teaching Assistants (TAs) from Spanish-speaking countries

  • Families All Matter (FAM) anti-bias, anti-bullying book project

  • BRAVO music program

Community Building

In an ongoing effort to strengthen our school community, the PTO sponsors the following events:

  • Family Outreach/Communication Coordinator: This key position works to attract more families to Windom, collects information from across the school and PTO, and distributes it to students and families

  • Uniform Swap: August and during conferences

  • Meet and Greet: August

  • Coffee & Tissues: A first day of school support event for Kindergarten and High Five students and their parents

  • Room Reps: Ongoing

  • Taste of Windom: September 

  • Social Event to Welcome our International Teaching Assistants: September

  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunches: Fall and Spring 

  • School Carnival: May

Finance & Fundraising

The following programs raise funds to cover the cost of our many community-building events and classroom enrichment programs:

  • Noche de Fiesta: October

  • Coffee & Chocolate Sales: October

  • Scholastic Book Fair: February

  • Readathon: Month-long challenge, every February

  • Plant Sale: Spring

  • Apex Fun Run: May

  • Box Top Collection: Ongoing
